The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) has delivered on behalf the FtF Nigeria Agricultural Policy Project a training course on “Introduction to Survey Data Analysis Using STATA” on 11-14 February 2019 for staff of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in Abuja.
The 25 participants (11 male, 14 female) were all familiarized with the STATA software and shown how to make use of it in analyzing survey data. The training was aimed at building the capacity of Nigeria’s analysts to generate evidence that can guide sound policymaking in the country’s agricultural sector.
Idongesit Frank, who was one of the participants at the training said: “I just want to give a feedback on the just concluded capacity building training on Stata delivered by the IFPRI-Nigeria team on behalf of the Feed the Future Nigeria Agricultural Policy Project to the staff of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). My expectations were high and I must say that the standard of the training I received was even better than I had expected. The training was relevant, well-structured and excellently delivered in a great and interactive way. The trainers provided for this training were very knowledgeable, competent and had good understanding of the subject matter. The training material provided was also well suited to meeting the objectives of the training. The participants all enjoyed the training and were very positive about utilizing what was learnt in our place of work. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this great experience.”
