On November 28 - 30, 2017, a team of four (4) trainers from the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) facilitated two parallel training courses on “Econometrics for Policy Analysis using Stata” at the University of Ibadan.
The 54 participants (31 males and 23 females) who attended the course over 3 full days, included graduate students from the departments of Agricultural Economics, and Extension and Rural Development within the University.
The training courses were designed to equip participants with the necessary skills in order to manage, analyze, and report findings from various types of economic data. Participants gained insights on how to handle data for evidence-based decision making. The training courses were well received and appreciated with participants expressing satisfaction for both course content and delivery.
These two training courses were organized by the Feed the Future Nigeria Agricultural Policy Project, which is jointly implemented by IFPRI and Michigan State University (MSU) with funding from the United States Agency for international Development (USAID), and is in line with Component 1 of FY 2018 work plan on activities to enhance skills, training, and institutional capacity.
